Greetings from our wonderful Meadowlands Public School (MPS) and Community.
We are dedicated to providing a welcoming environment to families, students, and staff at MPS. Cultural diversity is our strength and an important part of our community as a contributing component to the growth and vibrancy of our students. We value, embrace and celebrate diversity and believe that it builds a stronger community and contributes to learning. We are committed to ensuring all of our learners’ voices are heard, all stories are being shared, and that we are listening so that we can better serve our families, ensuring a student focused approach. We are proud to teach, live, and share the things that we have in common while celebrating what makes each of us unique.
A child feels safe to learn and achieve in an environment where they feel protected, respected, and cared for. We take our responsibility to create a safe and inclusive school for all our students very seriously. We are actively involved in promoting a respectful and caring school and dedicated to working with our community members to ensure that our students are welcomed and learning. Students at MPS have some very important responsibilities. In addition to the ‘Principle of Respect’ where we discuss the importance of demonstrating respect for oneself, others and our world, we discuss our responsibilities as students. These responsibilities focus on regular attendance, good work habits, self-regulation, demonstrating care, and developing the Exit Outcomes. In accepting these responsibilities, students will find that, not only do they enjoy academic growth, but also that there are many opportunities available to them. This includes a wide range of endeavors in athletics, music, visual arts and drama, trips, clubs, organizations, and special events. Their willingness to accept responsibilities as a student, as well as to take advantage of the many exciting activities offered, can support ensuring their years at MPS are productive, enjoyable and memorable. We are committed to developing relationships and partnerships with students, and their families. We are available to hear from and meet with our community members. Together we can ensure that our students reach their fullest potential.
